DESCRIPTION
The Master in Yacht Design supplies the cultural and technical instruments in order to manage the planning and the constructive distance of a boat, sail and motor, from the project brief until the definition of the general plans, to the hydrostatic and hydrofoil calculations, to the preparation of the interior ones, the deck and the board equipments, to the system equipment, the production in shipyard and the central of its executive parts. Such skills allow to satisfy the strong professional vocation that the nautical field expresses currently, both about the required skills to the planning of yachts, its members and accessories, and about the management of the several steps of the production process. Team Building for future Yacht Designer

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The Master Course in Yacht Design is aimed at candidates who have achieved a bachelor degree or master degree mostly in architecture, engineering, industrial design and in economic subjects. The Selection Board can decide to evaluate also candidates with different educational/working backgrounds.
Documents required: application form, letters of reference and updated CV (if possible with a photo).
The selection process is composed by an exam that takes place online and/or an interview that can take place either by telephone or by Skype.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

POLI.design, established in 1999, is a Consortium of the Politecnico di Milano, the University which has initiated, in 1993, the first undergraduate course in Industrial Design in Italy and with the highest number of dedicated researcher worldwide.
The Consortium’s aim is to bring out the Design System of the Politecnico with a particular focus on the structures and the university teachers coming from the most innovative laboratories among Europe located within the Bovisa campus.
POLI.design is a link between the industrial production world and the work and ideas elaborated by who plans, organizes, teaches and studies the design. It is a place, an instrument, a strong think tank which gives impulse to the profession, to the search and the creativeness.
It is a subject that intends to play an important role in the promotion of the design more and more as it systematizes cultural.
POLI.design offers to the design professionals a permanent hub for technical-scientific learning update courses and an active modality to discuss the major issues of product, process and system innovation. It organises level I University Masters, workshops, seminars and short ad hoc courses for professionals and companies. They represent light and accessible tools that can integrate specialized knowledge and basic research, especially targeted to those who want to invest on knowledge. This offer, enriched year by year with new courses, answers to ever-increasing demands for practical knowledge.
All the courses are characterized for the ampleness of the faced disciplines and for the contribution of teachers that they originate from the universe of the professions, to direct contact with the evolution of the partner-productive subjects.
